Spring cleaning season is now in full force, and many people are looking for effective ways to clean their homes. One product that has received a lot of attention in particular is the Shark Navigator vacuum cleaner. According to the infomercial, it is just as powerful as a top-of-the-line Dyson, but without the super high price tag.
In this Shark Navigator review, we’ll take a closer look at this vacuum cleaner and determine whether it lives up to all the hype.
By the end of this article, you should have a good idea whether or not this is the right vacuum for you. If you’re looking to buy the Shark Navigator, at the end of this review I provide a link to where you can get it for the lowest price online.
About the Shark Navigator
Just like the popular Dyson vacuum, the Shark Navigator is an upright, bag-less vacuum. For enhanced maneuverability, it features a swivel design and weighs less than a traditional vacuum. In addition, it’s “complete-seal” and anti-allergenic properties make it a solid-choice for allergy sufferers.
If you’ve seen the infomercial, you will also notice that it comes with a special “life-away” feature, which allows you to disconnect the canister from the base and vacuum in hard to reach places. This feature is supposed to be particularly helpful in locations with stairs, where lugging up the whole vacuum can be inconvenient and difficult.
But despite all these features, does the Shark Navigator actually perform well?
After looking through a bunch of Shark Navigator Reviews and trying out this machine for myself, I decided to put together a detailed Shark Navigator review to help you with your purchasing decision.
My Shark Navigator Review
My first impression was that this machine is super-light and easy to maneuver. And with a vacuum cleaner as powerful as this, these characteristics are not easy to come by. For instance, most Dyson models (which this product is often compared to) are much heavier and a bit of a chore to lug around everywhere.
Not this one though. It scoots around corners is easily, and can be moved in-between rooms without too much hassle.
In terms of suction, the Shark Navigator is clearly at the top of its class.
Since I’m a cat-owner, pet hair is something I struggle to remove daily from my house. In particular, the carpet in the living room is a magnet for hair and dirt, so I tested the Shark Navigator there to see how well it would hold up.
With just a few swipes of the hose, I was able to remove most of the ingrained cat-hair. And within a few short minutes the whole carpet was looking spotless and ready to show-off to guests. I came across a number of Shark Navigator reviews that also championed this machine’s suction power. In a comparison between this 10 Amp machine and Hoover’s 12 amp machine, the Shark Navigator is actually able to remove even more dirt in less time.
Clearly this can be attributed to this machine’s well-designed technology.
The Lift-Away Feature
Now came the true to test: an assessment of the Lift-Away feature.
I have a grueling staircase in my house that winds all the way to the top. When I got to the staircase, I pushed the lever on the vacuum, and immediately the canister came off. I then began cleaning the stairs.
The process was incredibly easy, and the distance you could cover was only limited to the length of your cord. I was able to make it all the way to the top without any issues. This lift-away function was the real selling feature for me, and the reason why I purchased the vacuum in the first place. No more stress and no more painful lugging of my monstrous Dyson!
I’m happy to say that this vacuum works very well for my purposes, and I would highly recommend it for its Lift-away feature alone.
Although the Shark Navigator performed exceptionally well in nearly every category, there were a few things that detracted from the over-all experience. For the sake of being thorough, I decided to include a few in this Shark Navigator review.
The first thing, negative I noticed was that the power cord is not particularly long. With a vacuum cleaner I do like a nice long cord so that I don’t have to keep plugging it in when I change locations. With this machine, you might be able to get enough cord to cover one room, but that’s about it.
The second thing is that this vacuum has the tendency to topple over if you’re not careful. This can probably be attributed to its light weight. But if you’re using the cord and you move suddenly to the side, you might just send the vacuum hurtling towards the floor. Ultimately, this is something I got used to quickly, but it is a mild annoyance.
What Others Have to Say
Before writing this article, I looked through a bunch of other Shark Navigator reviews to gauge what other people’s experiences were. All in all, people are thrilled with the effectiveness of this vacuum. Below are a few excerpts from these Shark Navigator reviews:
“It’s a very cool little vacuum that I highly recommend, and the price is not prohibitive like the feature-comparable Dyson and Electolux models (and they are heavier).” Annie, Amazon.com
“The vacuum arrived and was easy to put together with just a few clicks, no tools required. This vacuum works magic on pet hair. We have a long haired cat that sheds all over the place. This vacuum is able to suck up all the hair.” H. Goulette, Amazon.com
- Exceptional suction capabilities
- Lift-away feature works well for stairs and hard to reach places
- lightweight and highly maneuverable
- $200-300 cheaper that other vacuum cleaners in its class
- Power cord could be longer
- can be easy to topple over
If you’re looking for a highly functional and easy to use vacuum cleaner than the Shark Navigator is probably exactly what you’re looking for. With the same suction power as the Dyson but a far lower price tag, this machine will probably be the better choice for most people.
Where to Buy It
Right now the best deal on the Shark Navigator can be found from the official seller. You can try it risk-free for 30 days, and if you don’t like, you just return it for a full-refund.
Honestly, even if you’re not totally sold on the Shark Navigator, it is worthwhile to at least try it. In my opinion, it is one of the best vacuums on the market right now, and you really should test it out to just to see what a top-of-the-line vacuum is like.
You can either buy the vacuum right away for $199, or pay for it in 4 installments of $49. It comes with a 10 year warranty (standard is 5) so even if it does breakdown, you can always return it for a replacement (from what I’ve read this doesn’t happen too much though). This should be the only vacuum you’ll ever need for a very long time!
So if you know you need a new vacuum but are hesitant to commit to one without at least trying it, you can try the Shark Navigator risk-free today. This is a limited time offer, so take advantage of it while you still can.
